This work out is intense at first. I love the three different levels of intensity. Once you get better at one, you move on to the next. It's great the way you have a simple movement mixed with another to maximize your time.
I have bought plenty of workout DVD's in my time due to the fact that it makes better sense for my life. This DVD is incredibly easy on time and it packs a punch. On the DVD are 3 20-minute workouts that increase in intensity. If you're like me you may think that 20 minutes is not enough time to make you feel like you've had a good workout and to get quality results. NOT SO with this one. Jillian is intense and does a good job of keeping you motivated. I like to think that I'm fairly in shape, but after the first day of level 1 I was worn out. By day 7-8 I felt like I could conquer level 2 and it kicked my butt again. I am about to transition to level 3 and I'm sure that it will step it up one more time. If you want a challenge, this DVD is a great purchase. Results will show and for the price, you can't beat it.
This dvd is great. It really works if you stay with it. It is not easy.
I've been involved with fitness personally for over 25 years and professionally for 10 years. I enjoy all types of movement and cross train to keep myself from getting bored. Jillian will deliver FAST results if you're willing to put in the sweat equity! Each and every minute counts and she won't let you off easy; you almost feel as if she is right there, coaching you. The production quality is great and her personality humor are right on target for this type of workout. There are 3 levels, but by no means should they be considered easy, hard and harder (you can always mix-and-match depending on the day you're having). I just pop in the DVD while cooking dinner and work up an appetite. Fast, complete and wonderful. She will challenge you to ing out your best.
I am a mom of 2, so the 30 min workout was very appealing to me. If you work out often, dont' start with the first level .. start with 2. 1 was hard as far as cardio goes, but the weight lifting wasn't challenging to me. Jillian is more my type of coach because she doesn't act all bubbly and fake - enjoy your workout .. I definitely recommend it. I didn't give it 5 stars because I like it a lot, don't LOVE it. 【Jackie and her team are Fantastic!】

I really have liked this video. Having watched the Bravo! series with Jackie Warner, I was interested in trying the work-out video that she and her trainers put together. Just like the show, Jackie has a good approach and style - she pushes you, and stays on track, but she is encouraging. I like the modified Core work-out too as some of the harder exercises are hard on the back. The video at times seems a little thrown together and slightly unprofessional, but not a big deal. I like the eak-out into 3 different routines. My favorite is the Core. I think if I stick with it religiously I may obtain those elusive 6-pack abs someday!
I love this workout DVD. You will feel the burn the next day. Jackie and her instructors keep you motivated. Even though it is only 20 minutes per workout, it time efficient to give your body a good workout. I highly reccomend this DVD. I hope Jackie comes out with more DVDs!!!!
I love this workout. One segment, only 20 minutes long gave me sore muscles. It's easy for beginners to do and will definitely benefit advanced. For those who watch the show on Bravo - trainers are being themselves, which is good, and they are not over excited about their routines (some DVDs have that and I hate it).
This is a killer. You will feel the burn! I was surprised at how low the price was, I was going to buy it anyway-what a bargain. Before I bought this I thought it only had strength training but was happy to find out it had cardio and strength. It moves at a fast pace and I like that you don't do too much of one thing, it keeps moving. Right about when you think you can't do anymore, your done. I must mention that I am VERY out of shape and I could only make it through the upper body segment and a small part of lower body on my first try but I am eager to try again because it was actually kind of fun. Time went by fast while doing this. Jackie really mixes it up so you don't get bored. I like the core segment- She gives lots of alternative ways to work your middle other than boring crunches-which I hate. I like that when Jackie says your almost there, you actually are almost there. Nothing more annoying than trainers who tease you. Note to those trainers: It is not motivating and only makes me want to quit.
First of all I must state that I am already a fan of the Workout show on Bravo (except for the nuances of Jackie's personal life...but whatever)so as soon as I watched the episode when she was making the DVD I immediately googled the information. And boy was I surprised by the utterly low price been offered by Amazon so of course I ordered it along with Jillian Michael's 30 day shred. Even though I am not overly impressed with the 30 day shred due in large part to Ms. Michael's amazingly dull and annoying personality I can say the complete opposite of Jackie. Her motivational spirit which is already evident from the show and her patient yet informative way of training is definitely one to be desired. In short I would recommend this to everyone, it is a great workout in a short amount of time without the usual boredom of a lot of other workout tapes (trust me I own quite a lot). Bravo! I really like this workout. The workouts are concise and she gives clear and easy directions. The workouts are varied and separated into specific regimens.
I ordered this dvd after reading a lot of reviews for this and other dvds, and I'm so happy I purchased this one. The program went slow enough so I didn't feel overwhelmed as a beginner. Each pose is described well and special attention is placed on having the correct form. You can always tell if a fitness program is good by the amount of sore muscles the next day...let me tell you, I was sore. There is a lot of variation in the workouts and it is quite nice to be able to pick and choose from so many programs on one dvd. I'd recommend this to anyone.
I am not at all experienced with yoga. Nevertheless Barbara Benagh has unique teaching skills that lead you through routines very gently and the most important very clearly. The words that she uses to describe each pose give a precise picture of the eathing and its coordination with the parts of the body the pose emphasizes. Therefore, you become independent from the images relatively quickly. Also, the moderate pace of the transitions gives you enough time to adjust in the pose and learn about it. Although these are obvious and expected characteristics of a live yoga lesson, I understand they are difficult to gage in a DVD where the instructor can't have direct contact with the students. This is not an issue for Mrs. Benagh who has the ability to ing herself close to the student even from a screen. Because the routines are targeted they can be selected according to your mood and time availability. This structure of targeted routines gives a chance for the parts of your body to recover from one routine while you are still able to practice another routine, say on the next day. The location is beautiful and it is very pleasant to hear the sound of the waves on the sea during the practice.
I like this video it's good for beginners because it does explain the poses step by step. I find the practices are a little lengthy for beginners like me. I am using another video with shorter practices for now until I build up more strength and stamina.
This is a great DVD for those new to yoga. The first section provides good details and instruction for basic yoga moves while the second section helps build upon what you learned. I started with one part of the beginning level and added the rest. Her voice is calm and reassuring and she provides alot of detail on the yoga moves and how to do them. Very clear instruction that is easy to follow even though I had not done yoga before. The pace was perfect for me to follow along with. All in all I highly recommened this DVD. Yoga instructor Barbara Benagh has practiced and taught yoga for nearly 35 years. She discovered yoga while living in England and began teaching there. She moved to Boston and opened The Yoga Studio on Beacon Hill in 1980. p In addition to her local classes Barbara teaches yoga seminars throughout the US and internationally. She is a regular contributor of articles to Yoga Journal magazine. I really love all the work outs included. Some are shorter and its nice if I dont have a lot of time. They are also a lot of fun and keep you engaged and motivated. I really enjoy it!
I'm a 40 year old woman trying my best to stay in shape! My biggest fight has always been the 'hard to shed' belly flab...I'd always thought that there wasn't much reason to strengthen the ab muscles because it would still be covered with fat...WRONG !! I've had all kinds of workout videos and do them at least 3-4 times a week....As soon as my hip hop abs arrived I popped it in and started my newest workout....I loved it right from the start !! I've had it just over 2 weeks and I've lost an inch off of my abs and I can't believe how much better my abs look !! The results are quite addicting and I find myself wanting to workout twice a day ! I didn't experience a lot of pain after doing the workout...so for the first week I wasn't really sure I was getting any where, but then my jeans started fitting better and I'm now hooked !! I just bought the 2nd level and I can't wait for it to arrive ! I really think that most of you out there will like this DVD....I have a daycare and the kids all get involved and really enjoy it too !! It's really lots of fun and Shaun T is a riot !!
So I love hip hop abs and they really do work. It is the best standing abs video I have ever done. I love it and would recommend anyone buy it. One workout totally makes your abs burn. The Total Body Burn really does workout your whole body. It's great. and the Fat Burning Cardio is a great cardio workout.
I had seen this on tv, and went to Amazon to see if there were reviews before deciding to purchase it. I purchased the set at a reasonable rate through Amazon, instead of going through the tv ad, which was overly expensive, in my view, for 2 exercise dvds. I received it a few days ago, and have tried each section. I find it a lot of fun, I do work up a sweat and get my heart rate up, and it definitely seems to really focus on the abs in the workouts and dance moves. I liked Shaun, found him to be energetic, fun, and willing to be playful and silly, which I appreciated. I also liked that he oke down the moves before going at a faster tempo, so it was easy to pick up. I found him to be an excellent teacher, and I liked his energy. Fat Burning Cardio is a dance-oriented workout, probably my favorite. The ab sculpt focuses a lot on the abs, also somewhat dance-y. The total body burn is more of a typical exercise workout than dance oriented, with focus on arms and lower body (some with weights) in addition to the ab work, you really work your whole body in that one. I personally would have liked that one to be more dance oriented as well, but it was a good workout and a good balance to the other two, makes sure I give some extra attention to the arms and buns/lower body whenever I do it. I would recommend watching "Secrets to Flat Abs" before the others, as gives specific tips to use when doing any of the workouts. The one drawback, in my opinion, was the music. It was pretty generic, and did not inspire me to want to get up and dance the way I had hoped it would. I love to dance in general, and that is one of the reasons I chose this, I am used to more fun music when dancing or exercising. I am thinking I may, once I have done all the workouts a few times and know them well, try muting the music and put on some of my own, and see if that helps. If Shaun is reading these reviews, I would love to see you redo these videos with some really fun, upbeat, energetic music that gets you more into the dancing. Oh, and one other thing I liked, he did a good warm-up and cool down on each of the workouts, which I appreciated. I am hoping to lose about 10 pounds (mostly around my middle) that I have managed to put on in my late 40's, even with keeping up with regular exercise and very healthy eating (the metabolism change as you age has seemed to kick in), I will update in a few months after using these workouts consistently to see if there is a real physical positive change as well. I think there will be, as the workouts do give a good cardio workout as well as seem to really focus intensely on the ab area.
The hip hop moves are fun. The programs are cued well, the moves explained very well and easy to learn. I like that there is very little floor work. The music is great!
